Job Description
Profile: The institute conducts basic research in the areas of algebra, geometry and topology. What many projects have in common is a discrete core structure that needs to be designed, examined and used. A variety of problems are motivated by applications within both mathematics and theoretical computer science (see www.alta.uni-bremen.de ).
We offer a lively and ambitious working and research environment in an international context. The position is located in the CALTOP – Combinatorial Algebraic Topology research group.
Tasks:
- Research activity with the aim of obtaining a doctorate in the field of applied topology,
- especially topological methods in data analysis
- Participation in conference organization, internal seminars, workshops and public relations work (e.g. institute homepage)
- Support for teaching at the institute in the amount of 2 SWS
requirements
- A completed scientific university degree (Master) or a comparable degree (University diploma, Magister, state examination, Master of Education, LLM) in mathematics
- Preferably knowledge of one of the institute’s focus areas and the willingness to independently and comprehensively familiarize yourself with new subject areas
