The Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Chair of Landscape Ecology and Nature Conservation,Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg offers a Research assistant (f/m/d) in the project “ for 1,5 years with a possibility of asubsequent 4 year s PhD positionResearch field: Landscapeecological evaluation of the biological diversity of golf coursesDuration: 2 yearsPayment according: 85 hours/month as a student with BSc or MSc degreeStarting date:as so on as possibleApplication submission deadline:31.10 .2023The Chair of Nature Conservation and Landscape Ecology (https://www.nature.unifreiburg.de/) is seeking ahighly motivated student to study biodiversity and enhancement measures of golf courses across Germany.This is a joint national project of the Technical University of Munich, Kiel University, University of Münster andUniversity of Freiburg.The student filling this position will help to set up and study contemporary biodiversity and the effects ofbiodiversity enhancement measures (e.g. flowering areas, borders and bushes) at golf courses in BadenWürttemberg and evaluate the diversity and population dynamics of bees and wasps at golf coursesnationwide.Applicants must hold a BSc or MSc in ecology, biology or related disciplines ideally with experiences inmorphological identification of bees and wasps. The candidate should be able to work independently with highself motivation and open to working in collaboration with the DGV staff and greenkeepers at golf places aswell as students and researchers of all participating Universities. Fluency in written and spoken English andGerman are required. A driver’s licence (German driver’s licence class B) is advantageous.If the candidate fills the position successfully and with a lot of commitment, there is the possibility of subsequently obtaining a PhD position for 4 years with TV L 13 (65%).Contact and application procedure:Applications should include a letter of motivation, a curriculum vitae and copies of their certificates.
