Job Description
Performs skilled, administrative, and managerial support in research. Plans and directs certain phases in a research project.
Responsibilities:
-Rearing fly and ant colonies Assist with field work related to surveying, trapping and running other field experiments involving ants, as necessary.
-Assist in basic lab management and insect care, as necessary.
-Assist on and conduct research projects in the laboratory.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree in Entomology, Zoology, Biology, or equivalent degree.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment
-Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks.
-Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Ability to raise flies and/or ants in the lab
