The Center for Radiopharmaceuticals Antwerp (CREANT), part of Molecular Imaging Center Antwerp (MICA) in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences is looking for a full-time (100%) postdoctoral researcher in the field of radiopharmacy/radiochemistry.

Position

  • You will be working in the radiopharmacy laboratory to support and manage the development of ongoing academic programs of the research group.
  • You will design, synthesize, and evaluate novel radiopharmaceuticals/theranostic ligands for molecular imaging and radionuclide therapy.
  • You support the research group’s collaborations with external partners.
  • You will assist in the supervision and training of PhD students and other team members.
  • You will write reports, scientific papers and help with writing project proposals to attract external funding for novel research projects.

Profile

  • You hold a PhD in (radio)pharmacy, (radio)chemistry or similar, with relevant experience in working with radiopharmaceuticals.
  • You have hands-on experience with 11C and 18F radiochemistry, and automated radiosynthesis methods.
  • Relevant experience with radionuclide therapy is an advantage, but not mandatory.
  • Your research qualities are in line with the faculty and university research policies.
  • You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.
  • You have excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English is mandatory.

What we offer

  • We offer a full-time appointment as a postdoctoral researcher in a multi-disciplinary and international work environment with a state-of-the-art research infrastructure.
  • We offer an open-ended agreement with an expected end date after 3 years (which can be extended depending on available funding).
  • Your gross monthly salary is calculated according to the pay scale for a principal research fellow in the Contract Research Staff category (Dutch: Bijzonder Academisch Personeel, BAP).
  • You will receive ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, a group insurance, an income protection insurance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.  
  • You will do most of your work at the Campus Drie Eiken in a dynamic and stimulating working environment.
