Job Description

  • Responsibilities

The incumbent will work on various USDA and DOE projects with dimensions of Techno-economic analysis (TEA), lifecycle assessment (LCA), market penetration, and supply chain modeling, along with analysis in climate change adaptation and mitigation.

The incumbent will help conceptualize, specify, and do analyses with a combination of national and regional GAMS-based models of agricultural operations. The incumbent will also work on evaluating the new biochemical technologies in terms of cost-benefit tradeoff, emission reduction and market potential. The incumbent will work with multidisciplinary teams in this endeavor.

Work will involve cleaning data and making analyses using R, Python, and GAMS programming procedures and Aspen software.

  • Required Education

Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics or allied field (including the person who can get the degree in May 2024)

  • Preferred Education

Training/dissertation experience in TEA/LCA, Mathematical Programming, GAMS, Resource Economics, and Climate Change Economics.

  • Preferred Experience

Experience with working on TEA, LCA, market penetration and supply chain analysis 

Experience working on sponsored projects and in writing, reports, model documentation and journal article drafts.

Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.

Good communication and computer skills. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

  • Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of GAMS based national agricultural sector and supply chain mathematical programming modeling.

Knowledge of Python and R computer languages with application in data cleaning.

Knowledge of TEA, LCA analysis and Aspen software.

This is a grant funded position.
