Postdoctoral position in urban and regional economics, Aalto University, Finland, Europe

Last Date: 31.1.2024.

The Department of Economics at Aalto University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship, starting no later than September 2024. We prefer candidates with a strong background in urban, transportation or spatial economics. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree (or be near completion of the doctorate) in economics or in a related field. The applicants will be reviewed based on their research and activity in the scientific community.

The duration of the postdoctoral fellowship is 2 years, with the possibility to extend to a third year. We offer outstanding research facilities, access to administrative data, time devoted to research, and balance between opportunities to collaborate with faculty and to pursue an independent research agenda. We expect the postdoctoral fellow to carry out and supervise high-quality scientific research, teach one course in urban economics and be an active member of our urban economics research group.

The Department of Economics at Aalto University is part of the Helsinki Graduate School of Economics (Helsinki GSE, https://www.helsinkigse.fi), which brings together the economics faculty from three Finnish universities (including University of Helsinki and Hanken School of Economics) and collaborates closely with VATT Institute for Economic Research. The urban economics research group of the Helsinki GSE (https://www.helsinkigse.fi/groups/urban-economics) organises graduate-level teaching, workshops and a seminar series.
