Posting Summary | The Department of Psychology at Rutgers University-Camden invites applications for a postdoctoral research position to begin in Summer or Fall 2024 (earliest date 7/1/24). This position will support the research laboratory led by Dr. Yoona Kang.The successful candidate will work on multidisciplinary projects that integrate behavioral experimentation, interventions, social network analysis, contemplative science, and experience sampling. The findings will inform how social environments shape and relate to health andwell-being over time. The postdoc scholar will also have the opportunity to work with app developers to contribute to an on-going health intervention mobile application development and testing. The postdoctoral researcher will be encouraged to build their own independent lines of research program in intervention science and social/health psychology.We seek an innovative and productive researcher with a PhD in Psychology or related fields. We are especially interested in researchers who have strong backgrounds in the following areas:1. Theory- and evidence-based psychological interventions2. Social network analysis3. Statistics (e.g., multilevel modeling) and programming4. Contemplative science (mindfulness, compassion)An ideal candidate will have 1) intellectual creativity, innovation, and independence, 2) excellent quantitative, verbal, and writing skills, 3) strong data analysis and programming skills (proficiency in Matlab, Python, or R is a must), and 4) excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.Candidates may learn about the campus and the Department of Psychology at https://psychology.camden.rutgers.edu/ or by contacting Dr. Yoona Kang, chair of the search committee.Rutgers University—Camden, a beautiful, urban campus expanding to accommodate the growth of Southern New Jersey, is located just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
