The Lecturer, Nutrition Science, will be required to teach, undertake research, and publish in the area of nutrition science. You will promote the School and maintain links and partnerships with relevant academic, industry and professional communities while making an independent contribution to the School’s teaching, research and program development.

- Level B $108,804 – $128,689 + 17% Superannuation

As a Lecturer in Nutrition Science, you will:
- Maintain deep discipline knowledge, which is applied to inform unit design, including nutrition promotion, population nutrition, nutrients, and health, influences on food intake, food behaviour.
- Lead teaching teams to develop effective unit curricula and learning resources (including through unit leadership roles).
- Adopt new innovation in curriculum design at the unit level.
- Deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
- Lead unit teaching teams and works collaboratively with other unit teaching teams in the course.
To be successful, you’ll have:
Qualifications and experience
- PhD in population nutrition, public health nutrition, or a relevant discipline
Teaching
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to scholarly learning and teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs, in a manner that influences, motivates, and inspires students to learn.
- Experience in developing curricula and/or resources that reflect an understanding of nutrition promotion, population nutrition, nutrients, and health, influences on food intake and/or food behaviour.
Research
- Proven research activity in population nutrition and/or public health nutrition that aligns with the School’s research strengths.
- Capacity to supervise research students in areas of proven research activity.
- Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research funding.
Desirable
- Eligible for membership of the Nutrition Society of Australia and status as a Registered Nutritionist and/or be eligible to become an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with Dietitians Australia.
- Participation in relevant committees and/or board structures.
