Starting Date: January 2024.
The Institute of Veterinary Bacteriology of the University of Bern is looking for a flexible and highly-motivated veterinarian to join our diagnostic team for up to three years. Work in the diagnostic unit is geared to obtain sufficient proficiency to take the European College of Veterinary Microbiology Board Examination. If the candidate wishes, there is also the possibility to take the examination of the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists.
Starting Date: January 2024 or by arrangement
Tasks
- Case management incl. sample preparation, performance of tests, reporting of results and communication with clients (in German and French)
- Antimicrobial resistance monitoring
- Supervision of staff
- Assistance in teaching duties of university students
- Generation of scientific data and publications in peer-reviewed journals
Requirements
- A veterinary degree
- At least one year of work experience (internship, clinical work or research)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Language requirements: Fluent in German and English and at least basic communication skills in French
Doctoral degree is an asset.
