The directorate of Allied & Public Health are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward-thinking registered prosthetist and orthotist to work as a Clinical Skills Teacher within the Prosthetics & Orthotics team. They will provide clinical skills training, supervision and assessment of practical skills, as well as academic and pastoral support to our students.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver a range of teaching materials and modules, as well as marking and assessing work

  • Work with the students in practical sessions to help them gain the direct skills required for the role
  • Work with colleagues from across our School to share best practice knowledge and find opportunities to collaborate, where appropriate, to enhance the student experience
  • Promote equality and diversity for students and staff and sustain an inclusive and supportive study and work environment in accordance with university policy
  • Working with the professional body British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists to help shape the future direction of our profession

This opportunity is for four days a week on a fixed term contract for 24 months, but we would also consider someone who wishes to do this as a part time role minimum of 2-3 days a week, a job sharing opportunity or secondment for 24 months.

The role is split between 3 days working at the University of Salford in the clinical skills role and 1 day secondment to BAPO which would be home based but some travel to attend meetings and conferences would be expected.
