About the Role

As a leader within the health education sector, Flinders University is seeking an Associate Lecturer or Lecturer to join our team of talented academics within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

As a balanced academic in Health Sciences, you will be responsible for making a high-quality research contribution towards the Caring Futures Institute (CFI). This involves collaboration, participating in cross-disciplinary research activity, HDR student supervision as well as exploring new partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders. 

The Associate Lecturer/Lecturer will also be responsible for the delivery of topics across the suite of Health Sciences. You will play a role in the development of teaching materials, delivery of lectures/tutorials, examinations, and placement education. You will also be responsible for:

  • Developing, and maintaining strategic relationships with a range of stakeholders such as industry and professional associations and organisations.
  • Contributing to the integration and management of aspects of the academic and administrative life of the College.
  • Participating in College internal and external quality assurance and accreditation processes.

Some out of hours work (including weekends) as well as rural SA, interstate, and overseas travel, may be required.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will be a strong communicator with the ability to maintain effective relationships with staff, students, and industry. You will have a strong understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, scholarship, and practice.

Candidates will be determined to be suitable for the Level A, Associate Lecturer or Level B, Lecturer position depending on their relevant experience and qualifications.

As the Associate Lecturer, you will have completed 3 years of tertiary study in a relevant Health Sciences related discipline. The completion of an Honours, Masters, or the substantial progress towards a PhD or EdD in a relevant Health Sciences discipline will be highly advantageous. You will also demonstrate evidence of research experience. The Lecturer will possess a PhD or EdD or equivalent qualification in a relevant Health Sciences related discipline with a strong research track record.

Candidates will also need to exhibit the following:

  • Hold and maintain a current membership with a relevant professional association.
  • Prior teaching experience at a tertiary level in areas associate with one or more of the following: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health, digital health, health psychology, health sociology, pharmacology.
