Job Description

The Agricultural Research Worker, under supervision, supports research or teaching laboratories, farms, or ranches by performing specialized tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the preparation, irrigation, and harvest of field plots and greenhouse plants.
  • Uses field research equipment, procedures, and apparatuses in conducting field experiments.
  • Performs a variety of work assignments utilizing mechanical, carpentry, and welding skills.
  • Performs minor repairs to greenhouses, buildings, and farm/ranch equipment.
  • Operates farm equipment such as tractors, plows, cultivators, etc.
  • Collects, records, and prepares analyses on field research data collected.
  • Orders necessary supplies to support laboratory research.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of agricultural field research or laboratory work.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

This position is grant funded and contingent on funding availability.
