Job Summary

A Lab technician specializing in whole-brain calcium imaging data analysis and processing complex neural data while also supporting laboratory routine works.

Essential Job Duties

  • Whole-Brain Calcium Imaging Data Analysis (80%)
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of whole-brain calcium imaging data using specialized software and tools.  Collaborate with researchers to develop and implement data analysis pipelines. Extract and process neural activity patterns, including data preprocessing, segmentation, and quantification.
  • Calcium Imaging Analysis (10%)
  • Perform in-depth analysis of calcium imaging data from specific cell populations. Apply advanced statistical techniques to identify and characterize neural responses. Assist in the development and refinement of analytical protocols tailored to unique research needs.
  • Routine Laboratory Work (10%)
  • Collaborate with fellow lab members to assist in the maintenance and cultivation of C. elegans nematodes, including feeding, transferring, and monitoring their growth stages. Prepare agar plates with specific bacterial strains to serve as food sources for C. elegans. Perform nematode synchronization and coordinate timed experiments as required by research protocols

Basic Qualifications

  • Possess laboratory experience

  • Enrolled college student
  • Maintenance of C. elegans experience.

Hiring Range

$18.00 – $24.00 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
