PUBLIC NOTICE Nr. HR20-00904/2023
It is hereby made public that, pursuant to article 11 of Decree-Law no. º 57/2016, of 29 August, that, by order of the President of the Centre for Neurosciences and Cell Biology (CNC), is hereby open for a period of 10 working days an international tender, in the form of an indefinite-term employment contract, under the Labour Code, to fulfill one vacancy for the position of Junior researcher, in the scientific area of Basic Medicine – Neuroscience, within the scope of the Project ” MStar – Potassium channel dysfunction in models of neurodevelopmental disorders”, HR20-00904″,
Project funded by the Iberian Biomedical Research and Innovation Initiative, i4b, la Caixa Foundation/FCT.
This international tender shall be conducted pursuant to the Decree nr. 57/2016, in its latest version, by the Labour Code, approved by Law no. 7/2009, of 12 February, in its latest version and by other applicable legislation and regulations.
I – Reference and Place of Work:

I.2. Place of Work: Centro de Neurociências e Biologia Celular (CNC), Coimbra, Portugal
I.3. Job description: under the project “MStar – Potassium channel dysfunction in models of neurodevelopmental disorders”, HR20-00904”: develop research activities including activities focused on: i) performing in vivo experiments with animals subjected to seizure-inducing protocols; ii) performing electrophysiology recordings (whole-cell patch-clamp) in vitro and ex vivo, to evaluate currents mediated by M-type potassium channels; iii) evaluating network activity using multi-electrode array recordings from cultured neurons; iv) performing fluorescence complementation assays for live imaging studies in cultured neurons, to evaluate protein-protein interactions; v) performing biochemical analysis of protein-protein interactions; vi) performing cloning and site-directed mutagenesis; vii) managing the purchasing and acquisition of consumables and reagents ; viii) analysing, organizing and presenting experimental results;
I.4. Gross monthly wage: 2.228,11€, corresponding 33.º to the single remuneration table, approved by Ordinance nr. 1553-C/2008, of December 31st, in its current version
I.5. Maximum duration: The candidate will be contracted for the time necessary for the implementation of the project, which may not extend beyond its terminus or the maximum limit of 4 years.
II – Admission Requirements:
II.1. At the time of application, applicants shall hold a Ph.D. in the above-mentioned scientific area(s) or in a correlated one, in which case the applicant’s scientific background shall demonstrate the ability to thoroughly develop work in the main field(s) of the tender.
Candidates with qualifications obtained abroad must provide proof of recognition, equivalence or registration of the doctoral degree, in accordance with the applicable legislation. This formality must be fulfilled by the date of conclusion of the contract.
II.2 – Hold a certificate of completion of an animal experimentation course, accredited by the DGAV (Directorate General for Food and Veterinary), in order to fulfil the legal requirements for carrying out procedures on animals within the scope of the project.
III – Application
