The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is a nationally ranked, research-intensive unit with over $25 million dollars of research-grade instrumentation including spectrometers (nuclear magnetic resonance, mass, optical, x-ray), chromatographs (gas and liquid), vacuum equipment (pumps, chambers) and laboratory equipment (analytical balances, centrifuges, motors, refrigeration and other temperature-controlled devices, etc.).
The Hadden Lab specializes in molecular dynamics simulations of viral proteins and their assemblies. Under the supervision of Dr. Jodi Hadden-Perilla, the postdoctoral researcher will take the lead in applying molecular dynamics simulations to characterize the human papillomavirus (HPV) capsid as a drug target, in a project funded by the NIH, through the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) for Discovery of Chemical Probes and Therapeutic Leads https://sites.udel.edu/cobrediscovery/ . Salary will be commensurate with current NIH NRSA stipend levels. To apply, applicants should submit a statement of interest, C.V., and contact information for three professional references.
