Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Environmental Engineering/Analytical Chemistry/Environmental Science or closely related field in hand by the start of the appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working experience with liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LCMS). Familiarity with Agilent software. A track record of emerging contaminant-related research publications, with at least two first-authored publications. PFAS-related research experience.
Brief Description of Duties:
The NYS Center for Clean Water Technology is recruiting a Postdoctoral Associate under the supervision of Principal Investigator, Dr. Christopher Gobler and Dr. Lokesh Padhye. The successful candidate for the position will investigate the mechanisms governing the fate and transport, as well as the remediation, of emerging environmental contaminants, particularly PFAS, in both natural and built environments. Prospective candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, prior experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams, effective communication skills, and adaptability to changing research directions.
Responsibilities will include:
● Analytical method development, field sample processing, and sample analysis
● Data analysis and interpretation, presentations, and writing manuscripts for publication in appropriate top-flight journals
● Writing proposals for external support
● Other duties as assigned
