Postdoctoral Associate:
Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related field (e.g., Computer Engineering).
- Experience in computer systems including operating systems, storage systems, networking, and distributed systems, and/or security.
- Experience with systems code development, benchmarking, performance analysis and optimization.
- Strong data analysis, interpretation skills, and demonstrated publication record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing, debugging, and optimizing systems code in C/C++/Rust.
- Experience scripting in Python and bash.
- Experience with Linux kernel coding.
- Use applied machine-learning to train and test models.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will join the Principal Investigator Dr. Erez Zadok in the File-systems and Storage Lab (FSL) of Stony Brook University’s Department of Computer Science. Supported by significant funding, Dr. Zadok’s lab investigates is supported by significant funding, equipment, and facilities. The lab conducts a wide range of collaborative systems research that spans multiple areas of computer science, including cryptography, formal methods and verification, machine learning, natural language processing, visual analytics, and more.
- The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.
- Collect and analyze data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills to analyze the collected data.
- Join and/or supervise small research teams comprising Doctoral candidates as well as MS and undergraduate students. Actively participate in several weekly group meetings.
- Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations. May also assist in grant writing.
- Other duties as assigned, which may include attending several scientific conferences annually, participating in lab equipment maintenance.
Senior Postdoctoral Associate:

- Experience in computer systems including operating systems, storage systems, networking, and distributed systems, and/or security.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
