CCMB is a research laboratory located on the Health Sciences Campus of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. CCMB is a part of the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC.

The laboratory is funded through numerous federal and organization sponsored research grants. Many of these grants are from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, under which basic research is conducted into developmental, biochemical and molecular biological aspects of human development with a special emphasis on craniofacial structures in both health and disease.

Working together, we are advancing oral, dental, and craniofacial research toward solving problems in health and promoting the well-being of society.

Postdoctoral scholar position funded by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research is available at the Center for Craniofacial Molecular Biology, Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California to explore the structure and function of the extracellular matrix in tooth biomineralization. Research activities will involve, but not limited to, application of molecular biology and biochemical techniques for protein expression and purification, utilization of cell culture and mutant mice models for the study of enamel formation.  Experienced candidates working  with animal models will be preferable. The candidate should have a strong publication record and oral communication skills and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with an interdisciplinary research team.   Responsibility will also include presenting findings at scientific meetings, writing manuscripts, and contributing to research grant applications.

The annual base salary rate for this position is $ 66,737.00. Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous five years Minimum Experience: 0-1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
