- Commencement Salary $80,099 (ARA), $100,322 (ARAS) (pro-rata) per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
About the Role
You will contribute to the research efforts of UniSA STEM, in particular will undertake research on the project titled “Energy Upgrades for Australian Homes” with RACE for 2030 CRC, SA Department for Energy and Mining, SA Housing Authority and other research and industry partners.

Core Responsibilities
Research Assistant
- Undertake research activities under limited supervision to achieve the APY Pilot in EUAH project outcomes; i.e.
- Conducting desktop analysis and literature surveys on best practices of home energy retrofit and impacts on thermal comfort and health
- Collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data and provide reports to Project Leaders
- Preparing project reports and dissemination materials, as well as in communication and coordination with other stakeholders to disseminate project information and knowledge sharing towards energy upgrade for Australian homes
- Assist in preparing refereed journal publications, conference and seminar papers arising from the research
- Assist in researching and compiling information for communications, presentations, and dissemination materials to internal and external stakeholders
Research Associate
- Undertake research activities under limited supervision to achieve the APY Pilot in EUAH project outcomes; i.e.

- Collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data and provide reports to Project Leaders
- Preparing project reports and dissemination materials, as well as in communication and coordination with other stakeholders to disseminate project information and knowledge sharing towards energy upgrade for Australian homes
- Contribute to the preparation of refereed journal publications, conference and seminar papers arising from the research
- Research and compile information for communication and assist in the preparation of presentations and dissemination materials to internal and external stakeholders
- Provide advice to post graduate students in the appointee’s area of expertise
Essential Skills and Experience
- A bachelor degree in an appropriate Science or Engineering area relevant to the research area (Research Assistant) OR
- A postgraduate qualification in an appropriate Science or Engineering area relevant to the research area (Research Associate)
- Evidence of high quality research output commensurate with the length of research career, which is published and presented in appropriate forums
- Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated through written work such as research reports, research publications and educational materials, and through effective liaison with external partners, colleagues and students
- Ability to plan and execute testing and research with stakeholders
- Experience working in / with industry is desirable
