The study of how the nervous system (the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system) develops, how it is structured, and what it does—including the potential for disorders if it malfunctions—is known as neuroscience, also known as neural science. Neuroscience has historically been categorized as a branch of biology.
According to many scientists, the terms “neuroscience” and “neurobiology” are synonymous. Neuroscience, on the other hand, covers everything relating to the nervous system, whereas neurobiology examines the biology of the nervous system.
Today, neuroscientists work in a much broader range of disciplines than in the past. Scientists research the nervous system’s cellular, functional, evolutionary, computational, molecular, cellular, and medical aspects.
You can look for funding opportunities for your PhD in neuroscience and apply if you are interested in continuing your research after gaining the necessary experience in your master’s degree.
