About the opportunity | Clinical Faculty Position, Pediatric Hematology/OncologyDalhousie University & IWK HealthHalifax, Nova Scotia The Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Pediatrics at Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine and IWK Health is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) physician at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.The candidate will add to a dynamic and academically highly productive group of 5 collegial pediatric hematologists/oncologists and three nurse practitioners. The primary appointment will be clinical with duties in pediatric hematology and oncology. Candidates with expertise in, and passion for, leukemia, hematological malignancies, including stem cell transplant/cellular therapy, will be given priority. Teaching and research FTE is negotiable based on expertise and interest.The Division, based within the Department of Pediatrics, is very active in clinical care and clinical research, and has strong representation at a national and international level, and in university and community teaching. The Division has a fully accredited Royal College Pediatric Hematology/Oncology subspecialty Residency Program. IWK Health is a Children’s Oncology Group accredited centre and works in conjunction with an excellent interdisciplinary team, sharing care with community pediatric teams, to serve approximately 55 new oncology and 100 -130 new hematology patients diagnosed each year from across the Maritime Provinces, many with challenging diagnostic and management problems.Qualifications must include an MD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university and eligibility for certification in pediatric hematology/oncology or equivalent experience. Eligibility for medical licensure in the Province of Nova Scotia is essential. Compensation and academic appointment is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
