Research Associate, Centre for Health Services Studies, University of Kent, Canterbury, UK

This position represents an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to join a leading applied health and social care research unit. The post is for maternity cover to work on the ‘RCT of trauma informed interventions within Brigend youth justice services’ project. 

As a Research Associate you will:

  • Collaborate actively with other all colleagues working on the project.
  • Take overall responsibility for setting up the project, all processes, and materials under the direction of the principal investigator.
  • Take day-to-day responsibility for managing the ongoing project and collecting data.
  • Write or contribute to publications or disseminate research findings using other appropriate media, conferences or exhibit work in other appropriate events. 
  • Assess, interpret and evaluate outcomes of research. 
  • Develop new concepts and ideas to extend intellectual understanding. 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Knowledge of qualitative/quantitative research methods and their application
  • Experience in health and care research or relevant field as a postdoctoral researcher or equivalent
  • Experience of day-to-day running and management of large-scale research projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Evidence of ability to write research reports, journal articles, and other written outputs (e.g. blogs)
